Attorney Profile

Shay E. Meagle graduated from Wittenberg University in 1993 with a B.A. in Political Science, and received her J.D. from Capital University Law School in 1996.  She serves on the Board of the Bankruptcy Law Section of the New Mexico State Bar (serving as Secretary in 2010, and currently as Chairman-elect), and has been a member of the Local Bankruptcy Rules Advisory Committee since 2008. She has spoken at a number of bankruptcy and creditors’ rights seminars, and has authored the New Mexico section of Pratt’s State-by-State Debt Collections Handbook.

Shay is currently the only attorney in New Mexico certified as a CREDITORS’ RIGHTS SPECIALIST by the American Board of Certification.

Personal Information

When not practicing law, Shay enjoys singing, playing drums, and learning the banjo.  She is very active in her church, Sandia Baptist, serving on various committees, singing in the church choir, and singing and filling in on drums with the church’s praise team.  She also enjoys playing basketball and reading.
